Uttapam is a south Indian dish and you can say that it’s an Indian pancake which is topped with vegetables like onion, carrot, capsicum, tomato, green chilli and bell peppers. Normally uttapam is made with rice and urad dal batter but here we’ll give a little twist to our recipe and make it healthier. We will make Oats Uttapam. It is very healthy dish which can have as breakfast or main course and it’s idle recipe for people who are trying to weight loss and looking for healthy recipes.

So let’s start and please follow the following recipe step by step to make simple, easy, instant and delicious Oats Uttapam at home: –

Ingredients

  • 2 Cup Oats
  • 1 Cup Curd/yogurt
  • ½ Cup Rice Flour/Semolina
  • 1 tsp  Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 Green Chili – Chopped
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 small Onion – finely chopped
  • 1 medium sized Carrot – Finely chopped or grated
  • 1 Small Capsicum – finely Chopped
  • Salt to taste


Instructions

  • Add Oats in a grinder and grind to make a fine powder.
  • Transfer Oats powder in to a bowl, add Curd and salt to taste. Mix it well. Add water as required to make a find paste and leave it for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, add more water to make it like Dosa batter consistency
  • Now add Rice flour or semolina, Mix well and add water if required
  • Add Ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chilli, Black Pepper and mix well
  • Heat pan / tawa on medium heat, apply a little oil, spread a ladleful of batter on to the tawa. Spread all the vegetables one by one evenly on the batter.
  • When Uttapam is golden brown from the bottom, flip it to the other side and cook
  • Serve hot with Coriander-mint Chutney or ketchup or cocunut chutney.


Tips

  • All the vegetables can be added in to the batter to save more time.
