Ingredients
- 3 medium sized Potato – Cut in Cubes
- ¾ cup of Matar (Green Peas) – Frozen or Fresh
- 2 medium Onions _ Finely Chopped
- 2 medium Tomatoes – Finely Chopped or Pureed
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 Green Chili – Finely Chopped
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- ½ tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- Pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
- ¼ tsp Haldi (Turmeric)
- ½ or ¼ tsp Red Chili Powder (Lal Mirch Powder)
- ½ or ¼ tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
- Salt to Taste
- Water as required…
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pressure cooker. When oil is hot, add Jeera and hing
- Once Jeera begin to crackle, add chopped onions and chopped green chilis. Fry until onions turn golden or pink
- Now add Ginger-Garlic paste and saute for 30-40 sec. until raw smell goes away
- Turn the flame to low and add coriander powder, haldi, red chili powder, mix it well and saute for 30 sec.
- Now add chopped tomatoes or pureed tomatoes and mix them well. Add Salt and cook until oil begins to seperate.
- Add cut Aloo (potato) and Matar (green peas). Mix it well and saute for 2 min.
- Add water just to cover the potatoes (aloo) and pressure cook for 2 whistles or one whistle and then cook on low flame for 10 min.
- Once the pressure tranquil down, mash some of the pieces of potato (aloo) to thicken the gravy
- Add Garam Masala, crushed kasuri methi and mix it well.
- Finally, serve Aloo Matar sabzi with Roti (Chapati), Parantha or even rice.

Tips
- If you want to make this recipe in a pan or kadai so firstly, pressure cook (boil) aloo (potato) for 2 whistles and boil 70% green peas separately
